]]> Fuck, fuck, fuck! Sowas sagt man nicht – oder doch? Der indische Guru Ranjneesh (auch als Osho bekannt) macht das berühmte Wort Fuck zum Thema einer seiner Reden. Fuck ist demnach ein Mantra, eine Meditationsform.

Einen großartigen Sinn für Humor beweist Osho damit – das Publikum kriegt sich kaum noch ein vor lachen! Auch mit wenig Englisch-Kenntnissen sollte der Punkt rüberkommen.

Noch ein Zitat:

One of the most interesting words in the english language today is the word fuck. It’s a magical word!”

Warum ich darüber schreibe: Bei meinem Aufenthalt in Indien (genauer: Bangalore, 9/05-3/06) hat man mir von dieser tollen Rede erzählt. Eine wahrhafte Erleuchtung. :) Ich habe kurz auf Englisch darüber gebloggt, was seitdem Besucher zu mir bringt die nach “Osho Fuck” suchen. Nun wollte ich noch einmal auf deutsch von Oshos Rede berichten.

]]> As you may know, I work for the Hitiki project right now in Bangalore. This “online travel guide with a community feel” is not yet online but already has a blog.

The reason we started it was mainly for the recruitment of new people. Many of our applicants have never been to India. And recruiting via e-mail and phone interviews is not an easy task (for both sides). So we hope the Hitiki Blog makes our project a little bit more real. :)

On December 13th, a BPO call centre agent has been raped and killed in Bangalore by a man who pretended to be her night driver. She worked for HP. The case is still in the the newspapers, because Bangalore was always considered to be very peaceful.

Yesterday a friend e-mailed me horrifying photos of a dead female body full of blood an a lot of bystanders in the background. This e-mail spreads around the IT-companies in Bangalore right now, saying it showed the victim of the BPO murder.

I had a closer look at the EXIF-metainformation of the photos. The “date taken” field was from 13th August 2005, 5:40pm (taken with a Finepix S7000 camera).

That could mean the photos were taken four months before the murder. So either the camera was not set correctly, or they showed a different case.

When I get e-mails forwarded, I always try to be very suspicious about their authenticity. Many turn out to be fake or urban legends, the modern fairytales.

Update: rootburn points out two articles about the BPO murder, stressing that the outsourcing industry is shocked about what happend.

]]> Als Student zahle ich etwa 50 Euro monatlich für die gesetzliche Krankenversicherung. Das muss ich auch kommendes Semester tun, nur leider erhalte ich in Indien keine Leistungen dafür, sondern muss mich privat selbst versichern, wenn ich möchte.

Das Problem:
Die meisten Reisekrankenversicherungen sind nur für wenige Wochen Auslandsaufenthalt konzipiert. Will man wie ich (männlich, 28 Jahre) für 212 Tage nach Indien, muss man schon mehr als ein paar Euro bezahlen.

Tarife, die ich für mein Profil gefunden habe:

  • Signal Iduna Reisekrankenversicherung: 285,- Euro (0,40 Euro/Tag bis zum 30. Tag. Ab dem 31. Tag 1,50 Euro)
  • DKV: 191,80 Euro (27,40 Euro im Monat bis max. 1 Jahr) (Ich musste erst ein Internet-Formular ausfüllen – wie offline von denen! Ein Versicherungsvertreter hat mich dann angerufen und telefonisch ein Angebot gemacht)
  • Victoria: 289,- Euro (1. – 90. Reisetag: 0,50 Euro. 91. – 365. Reisetag: 2,00 Euro)
  • Allianz: 286,20 Euro (1,40/Tag bei Reisen �ber 93 Tage)
  • Würzburger Versicherung: 202,35 Euro

Ich bin noch auf eine aktuelle Übersicht über längerfristige Reisekrankenversicherungen gestoßen, die den Preisrahmen bestätigt, aber nicht genau die Preise auflistet, die ich herausgefunden habe. Der Tabelle dort zufolge wäre die Victoria-Versicherung mit 212,- Euro am günstigsten für mich (“Tarif GAR1″).

UPDATE 18.8.: Ich habe mich für die DKV entschieden, weil sie am billigsten war. Den Vertrag habe ich bei einer DKV-Filiale in meiner Nähe unterschrieben. “Offline” hat also gegenüber “Online” gewonnen. ;)

Bei kürzeren Reisen (unter 2 Monate) lohnt sich übrigens ein Blick auf den Preisvergleicher Reiseversicherung.com.
